KARACHI: The Sindh
government on Sunday allowed all the markets in the province to resume business activities from tomorrow after successful negotiations between the traders’ alliance and Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
According to traders leader Hammad Poonawala, shopping centres, malls will continue to remain closed while markets across the province will operate from 6am till 5pm.
According to the provincial
government order, Taraweeh shall be offered at home and strict compliance of the lockdown will also be made for which the police and other law enforcement agencies have been given clear instructions.
In a notification issued on Sunday, the
government instructed the Karac

hority and Fishermen Cooperative Society to ensure social distancing is practiced.
The aut
hority has to provide masks, gloves and sanitiser to all fishermen and employees. Authorities will also have to manage traffic to ensure there isn’t any rush at the harbour.
Fishermen will be allowed to go for catching fish from 5pm to 6am and will have to clean their boats and ships before and after unloading.
According to the notification, not more than four people will be allowed to be in a single boat at the same time. Anyone found violating the law will be punis
hed under Section 4 of the Sindh Epidemic Disease Control Act, 2014.
Previously, the
government had shut down businesses and industries as part of precautionary measures to contain the novel coronavirus.
The chief mini
ster said that the decision was difficult for them as the health of the residents is of the utmost priority for the
government, especially with coronavirus cases on their peak in the province.
